Job Summary Founded in 1926, Dettinger Lumber Company, Inc. is a family owned and operated business selling building materials in Berkshire (MA) & Columbia (NY) counties, and the surrounding area. For 100 years, customers have returned to Dettinger Lumber for their high-quality products, quick delivery times, and knowledgeable staff providing excellent customer service! Dettinger Lumber is looking for a Kitchen & Design Sales Specialist for our Design Center. In this role, you will guide customers through their entire home improvement or new construction journey. You will help them select and purchase premium windows, doors, cabinets, countertops, flooring, and millwork products. This position oversees the entire sales lifecycle, from initial inquiry to delivery. This is a dynamic role, perfect for someone who enjoys customer service, has an eye for detail, and enjoys a mix of showroom consultation and local site visits. You will work closely with a supportive team member during the week, offering you the scheduling flexibility to visit customers at their homes or jobsites. Work Schedule Monday to
Friday:
7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
Saturday:
7:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Alternating weekends; every other week) Key Responsibilities Manage the entire sales lifecycle from initial inquiry to final delivery. Guide homeowners and contractors through product selection. Create proposed CAD renderings for customers based on site visits, and consultations. Travel to homes and jobsites to take precise measurements. Prepare accurate project quotes for clients and obtain their approval. Place accurate orders with vendors, and process internal purchase orders. Provide estimated delivery timeframe to customers. Coordinate with the Receiver to inspect product upon delivery to our warehouse. Coordinate with our Shipping Manager for final delivery to the customer. Answer customer inquiries via the phone, email, and in person at our showroom. Remain current with industry trends and new vendor products. Position Requirements A friendly, helpful, and customer-focused attitude. Proficient computer skills, with the ability to learn industry-specific design software. Strong organizational skills to manage time effectively and ensure order accuracy at each lifecycle step. Basic math and spatial skills for taking on-site measurements. Excellent listening skills and clear communication. Ability to manage multiple open projects at various lifecycle steps, and pivot quickly in between them. Ability to learn multiple vendor portals for order placing. A valid driver's license for local jobsite and home visits. Preferred Qualifications Experience with industry software like 2020 Design , Andersen IQ+ , ECI/Spruce , or other vendor ordering tools. Prior sales experience in millwork, lumber, or building materials. A basic understanding of residential construction or home remodeling. Pay Below pay range is reflective of potential commissions. Pay will be dependent on experience.

$50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
