BAYSTATE WINE & SPIRITS
Massachusetts | Full-Time | Established Territories | $65K+ Entry-Level Earnings | $90K+ Potential | Travel Opportunities What if your next career could take you from building relationships with restaurants and retailers throughout Massachusetts to vineyards in Italy, wineries in California, distilleries in Kentucky, and supplier events around the world? Baystate Wine & Spirits is a growing regional wine & spirits distributor headquartered in Massachusetts, with operations in Rhode Island and New Hampshire. As we continue to grow, we're excited to add more salespeople throughout Massachusetts. We're looking for energetic, outgoing, ambitious people who want more than a desk job and are interested in building a long-term career in the wine & spirits industry. And importantly — you're not starting from scratch. Our available sales territories have significant existing sales revenue and established customer bases. You'll take over relationships with existing restaurants, retailers, and other licensed accounts while also having the opportunity to grow the territory and develop new business. This is not a cold-calling, build-a-territory-from-zero sales job. Entry-level opportunities begin with expected earnings of approximately $65,000 , with the ability to increase earnings as you grow your territory and develop your business. Successful salespeople have the potential to earn $90,000+. We're building the next generation of wine & spirits professionals, and no previous wine experience is required. We'll teach you the industry. You bring the personality, work ethic, curiosity, and competitive drive.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You'll represent a diverse portfolio of wine, spirits, and beverage brands while managing and building relationships with customers throughout your territory.
Your days could include:
Visiting existing restaurants, bars, and retailers Building relationships with owners, managers, and buyers Introducing customers to new wines and spirits Growing sales within an established account base Identifying new business opportunities within your territory Attending tastings, dinners, launches, and industry events Learning directly from winemakers, distillers, suppliers, and industry leaders Helping launch and grow brands Competing in sales incentives and earning opportunities Traveling for winery, distillery, supplier, and educational trips This is not a cubicle job. You'll be out in the market meeting people, developing relationships, discovering new places, learning the business, and building your own network.
THE TRAVEL
One of the best parts of the wine & spirits industry is getting the opportunity to experience where the products actually come from. Top performers may have opportunities to participate in supplier trips, educational experiences, and industry travel.
That could mean visiting:
Italy. Spain. Portugal. France. Ireland. California. Kentucky. Mexico. Walk vineyards. Tour distilleries. Meet producers. Taste products where they're made. Then come home knowing more about the industry than you could ever learn from a textbook. Travel opportunities are based on performance, supplier programs, availability, and business needs and are not guaranteed.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You do not need to be a wine expert. We're looking for people who are: Competitive Social and comfortable meeting new people Motivated by goals and incentives Comfortable working independently Curious about wine, spirits, restaurants, hospitality, or sales Excited to learn Reliable and organized Looking to build a career, not just find another job Restaurant, bartending, retail, hospitality, customer service, marketing, and sales experience are all great backgrounds — but they're not required.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
We'll help teach you: Sales. Negotiation. Wine. Spirits. Brand Building. Relationship Management. Territory Management. Business Development. These are skills you can carry throughout your entire career. And as you grow, opportunities can expand into: Sales Management Key Accounts Brand Management Supplier Roles Marketing Leadership
