We are looking for a motivated Sales Trainee to join our team and develop the skills needed to become a successful Territory Manager. This role offers hands-on training, mentorship from experienced sales professionals, and exposure to industry-leading Vermeer equipment and solutions. As a Sales Trainee, you will work alongside Territory Managers and Product Specialists to learn the sales process, customer relationship management, equipment applications, and field demonstration techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys learning, building relationships, and growing within the heavy equipment industry. What You'll Do Shadow and assist Territory Managers with customer visits, sales calls, and prospecting activities. Participate in equipment demonstrations, customer training, and customer start-up activities. Learn equipment operation, applications, features, and benefits to effectively communicate value to customers. Assist with lead follow-up efforts and customer relationship management activities. Build proficiency in CRM software by entering customer information, creating quotes, and maintaining accurate records. Help prepare sales and trade-in documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Learn to develop weekly and monthly sales plans using CRM tools and sales data. Support post-sale follow-up activities to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term relationships. What We're Looking For Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent customer service mindset with the ability to build relationships. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Self-motivated with a desire to learn and develop professionally. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technology tools. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Two years of experience working for an equipment dealer preferred. Knowledge of heavy equipment and its applications preferred. Valid driver's license required.
