Used Vehicle Director Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Off-the-Street Buyer / KBB Purchaser to join our dealership team. This individual will be responsible for acquiring quality used vehicles directly from the public, handling Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer (ICO) leads, and appraising walk-in customer vehicles. The ideal candidate has strong negotiation skills, excellent communication, and a keen understanding of the used car market. We would like to see people who have experience in the automotive sells industry. This role is critical to ensuring our dealership maintains a profitable, diverse, and well-stocked pre-owned inventory. Key Responsibilities Engage with customers looking to sell or trade their vehicles, including KBB ICO leads, walk-ins, and online inquiries. Perform thorough vehicle appraisals using tools such as Kelley Blue Book, V-Auto, MMR, Carfax/AutoCheck, and market research. Inspect vehicles for condition, mileage, history, and overall value to determine accurate purchase offers. Present and explain appraisal results to customers in a professional and transparent manner. Negotiate purchase terms and finalize acquisition deals that align with dealership profitability and inventory needs. Complete all purchase paperwork, including title transfers, odometer statements, lien releases, and compliance documentation. Maintain accurate records of all appraisals, offers, and acquisitions in the dealership CRM/inventory system. Stay informed on used car market trends, pricing shifts, and demand to ensure competitive buying. Achieve monthly acquisition targets and contribute to the dealership's overall sales and inventory goals. Qualifications Previous automotive experience in buying, sales, appraisals, or inventory management is required. Strong knowledge of the used car market and valuation tools (KBB, V-Auto, MMR, etc.). Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to build rapport quickly and establish trust with customers. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and accuracy in paperwork. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
