Great Lakes Cabinet is looking for an Intermediate Cabinet Designer & Sales Representative to join our kitchen and cabinetry showroom. We are looking for someone who can combine strong design skills with a genuine sales mindset. This is not a position where success comes simply from waiting for customers to walk through the door. The right person will be comfortable developing relationships, following up consistently, identifying opportunities, and helping turn inquiries into completed projects. Our showroom and sales operation are continuing to grow, which makes this a good opportunity for someone who wants to have a meaningful impact on that growth. You will have access to cabinet lines, design software, vendor resources, existing customers and referrals, showroom traffic, and internal support, but you will also be expected to actively build your own pipeline and take ownership of your sales performance. This role is best suited for someone with experience in cabinetry, kitchen and bath design, interior design, construction-related sales, or a similar field who already has a solid foundation and wants to continue developing into a high-performing designer and salesperson. You will work directly with homeowners, builders, remodelers, contractors, and trade professionals on kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, offices, built-ins, and whole-home cabinetry projects. Responsibilities Meet with homeowners, builders, remodelers, contractors, and trade clients to understand project requirements Create kitchen, bath, and cabinetry layouts using ProKitchen Assist clients with layouts, cabinet styles, finishes, storage solutions, hardware, and other selections Prepare accurate quotes and proposals Present designs and pricing clearly and confidently Follow up with leads, open quotes, past customers, and prospective trade accounts Develop relationships with builders, remodelers, designers, contractors, and other potential referral partners Help move projects from initial consultation through final sale and order placement Measure spaces or review field measurements for accuracy Read architectural plans, measurements, and project documentation Coordinate with vendors, installers, contractors, and internal team members Maintain accurate project notes, measurements, pricing, selections, and client communications Manage multiple projects and client conversations simultaneously Continue developing knowledge of cabinetry, construction, installation, design standards, and product specifications Qualifications 2+ years of kitchen and bath, cabinetry, interior design, showroom sales, construction sales, or related experience preferred Cabinet design or cabinet sales experience strongly preferred Experience with ProKitchen, 2020 Design, Chief Architect, or similar design software preferred Working knowledge of cabinet layouts, measurements, construction, and installation considerations Ability to read plans and create accurate layouts Strong communication and client-facing skills Comfortable discussing budgets, presenting pricing, handling objections, and asking for the sale Strong follow-up habits and willingness to actively develop new business Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at once Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a small team Willingness to learn new product lines and continue developing technical cabinet knowledge Motivated by measurable sales performance and growth What We Offer Base compensation plus commission and bonus potential Opportunity to earn more through strong sales performance Existing showroom presence, client inquiries, referrals, and trade relationships to build from Multiple cabinet lines, finishes, door styles, and design options Design software, vendor resources, and internal support Opportunity to work on projects ranging from individual rooms to whole-home cabinetry Direct access to homeowners, builders, remodelers, contractors, and trade professionals Opportunity to help grow the showroom's customer base and sales presence Room to grow into a senior design and sales position based on performance Compensation Compensation will be based on experience, cabinet/design knowledge, and sales background and may include a combination of base pay, commission, and performance incentives.
