POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides sales, field and administrative support to Sales Staff. Reliable and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Estimating Read/interpret blue-prints Determine and calculate materials needed from blueprints Use own personal judgment to prepare material lists and cost estimates Assemble correlate and interpret all data necessary to estimate material quantities, labor costs, and customer pricing. Customer service Develop a positive rapport with clients/customers Promptly answer/address customer questions Present conclusions and recommendations used to establish sales price and product selection decisions. Data Entry Convert estimates into active orders using computer systems. Conduct manual order entries, as necessary Field measuring Travel to job-sites to gather information necessary to recommend products and estimate quantities and costs. Interpret blue-prints with foreman and identify material usage issues Perform measurements for orders Special order tracking Utilize judgment, experience and knowledge to identify vendors and product offerings that best fit the customer's needs and company objectives. Calculate customer pricing and place special orders. Report back to appropriate salespersons and/or customers Sales Representation Represent Contractor Sales staff when Senior Sales member is out of the office. Continuous Improvement Promote and support Continuous Improvement initiatives; follow Standard work as it applies to your work area and functions Seek input from team to identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions Commitment to Standard Work and willingness to create a positive impact Safety and Wellness Assist other employees and departments as directed and needed Increase knowledge and awareness of safety for yourself and others throughout the workplace Report all safety concerns, hazards and incidents Follow ergonomically correct standards in personal workspace Promote safety and wellness initiatives
EDUCATION & EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 2-year degree in construction technology preferred 1
  • 3 years sales and/or customer service required 1
  • 3 years in building materials and industry required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and listen carefully Excellent customer service skills Excellent math skills Strong problem solving skills with the abilty to make anaytical and detailed decisions Computer proficiency in the following programs: Microssoft Outlook &Calender, Anderson IQ, Marvin MQS, Hayfield, Wood E Beam, etc. Ability to read/interpret blue-prints Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent organizational/time management skills Building materials product/industry knowledge Ability to use office equipemnt such as faxes, scanners, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sit for extended periods of time Frequent use of hands, fingers and eyes (computer keyboard, monitor & phone)
