The major goal of this position is to serve as primary back-up and fill-in for the sales staff. While filling-in another salesperson's route, this person is responsible for selling product and maintaining the salesperson's accounts by performing the duties listed below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales Duties:
Account Call 1. Pre-plans sales objectives 2. Calls on accounts according to established frequency and observe accounts for opportunities. 3. Prepare reports on business transactions. 4. Develops and maintains effective relationships with purchasing contacts and establishes good rapport with all assigned accounts. 5. Handles own call-ins. 6. Closes sales call effectively. 7. Inspects stock for proper pricing, rotation, and positioning. 8. Performs proper merchandising to company standards. 9. Ensures proper compliance with company quality assurance standards. 10. Maintains sufficient inventory levels to avoid out-of-stock situations. 11. Document all notes before next sales call. 12. Collects the appropriate funds upon each call, makes any adjustments as necessary and processes funds at the end of each working day. Account Execution 1. Meets or exceeds monthly sales volume and profitability commitments that are agreed upon with supervisor. 2. Meets or exceeds distribution goals. 3. Recommends and performs resets as needed and/or directed. 4. Executes all ad features 5. Recommend and execute special promotions as needed and/or directed. 6. Recommend and execute displays greater than or equal to market share within each account. 7. Must effectively give presentations to accounts, top management and other groups. 8. Investigates and resolves all customer questions, complaints, and problems with deliveries in a timely fashion. 9. If necessary, consult with the Beer Sales Manager to resolve customer problems or complaints. 2.
General Duties:
1. Maintains complete confidentiality in all matters concerning the Company business and personnel. 2. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, business associates, suppliers, and customers. 3. Adheres to all appropriate federal, state, and local regulations regarding the sale and merchandising of both alcohol and non-alcoholic products. 4. Reports all competitive information to a department manager. 5. Maintains all company property, including vehicles as well as all sales and merchandising tools. 6. Maintains appropriate dress and personal appearance according to company standards. 7. Attend and participate in all sales, training, and company meetings. 8. Represents the Company at special events and functions as required. 9. Adheres to all Company and supplier procedures and policies 10. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities that the Incumbent must demonstrate to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Education and/or
Experience:
Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or two years' related experience and/or training/ or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mathematical Skills:
Proficient in the fundamentals of mathematics and applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate amounts such as discounts, interest, and commissions.
Language and Reasoning Abilities:
Must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively to customers and/or co-workers. Ability to respond appropriately to common inquiries or complaints from others.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Must have a valid Montana driver's license and a clean driving record to be insurable.

Work Environment and Physical Demands The work environment and physical demands described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job: Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently sit, walk, stand, kneel, or stoop. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Occasionally exposed to work in wet or humid conditions and extreme cold or heat (non-weather), as well as outdoor weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
