  • Industrial Pipe, Valves & Waterworks We are seeking an experienced and motivated Counter Sales Leader to join our growing team here at Raritan Pipe & Supply.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong expertise in industrial pipe, valves, fittings, and waterworks products who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment. About the
Role:
This is a working leadership position where you will lead and support the counter sales team while actively driving sales at the counter, over the phone, and through email. You will serve as a trusted resource for contractors, municipalities, industrial customers, maintenance teams, and mechanical contractors by providing expert product knowledge and outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, train, and motivate the counter sales team Drive sales growth across industrial pipe, valves, fittings, and waterworks products Provide expert technical recommendations and product selection assistance Process counter, phone, and email orders quickly and accurately Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, industrial customers, municipalities, and existing accounts Assist customers with material take-offs, specifications, and blueprint reading Support inventory management, purchasing, and product assortment decisions Help ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency Meet and exceed sales and gross margin goals
Qualifications:
5+ years of counter sales or inside sales experience in industrial PVF, waterworks, plumbing distribution, or a related industry Strong knowledge of: Industrial pipe (carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, copper, etc.) Valves (ball, gate, globe, butterfly, check, plug, etc.) Fittings (flanges, elbows, tees, reducers, couplings, grooved, threaded, welded, etc.) Waterworks and municipal products including hydrants, restraints, and service materials Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred Proven ability to meet sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service Ability to read blueprints and assist with material take-offs Experience with ERP, inventory, and ordering systems Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
