Business Development Representative - Industrial / Manufacturing Fairfield, NJ $60,000-$75,000+ annually, depending on experience Up to 50% travel across North America Onsite with flexibility based on travel schedule We are seeking a Business Development Representative to join a growing organization serving the wire, cable, and industrial manufacturing sector. This is not a traditional sales-closing role . The primary focus is building pipeline: identifying target companies, prospecting, developing relationships, qualifying potential opportunities, and turning cold prospects into warm, qualified leads. Technical scoping, quoting, and deal development will be handled in partnership with senior leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the hunt of business development , is comfortable initiating conversations with new prospects, and wants to build a career within industrial or capital equipment markets. What You'll Do Research and identify prospective accounts within the wire and cable manufacturing industry Generate new leads through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn, networking, and other prospecting activities Engage decision-makers and develop relationships with target accounts Qualify inbound inquiries and new business opportunities Build and maintain a healthy business development pipeline Represent the organization at industry trade shows and events Follow up with prospects and leads generated through industry events Maintain accurate prospect and activity information in Pipedrive CRM Partner closely with the General Manager and hand off qualified opportunities for technical scoping and quoting Maintain relationships with prospective accounts as opportunities progress Travel up to 50% across North America , primarily within the United States What We're Looking For Approximately 2-5 years of experience in business development, inside sales, B2B sales, or a related role Industrial, manufacturing, machinery, or capital equipment experience is strongly preferred Comfortable with outbound prospecting and cold outreach Strong relationship-building and communication skills Organized, proactive, and capable of independently managing a pipeline Comfortable traveling frequently for customer meetings, trade shows, and business development activities Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required — relevant experience will be considered Ability to travel up to 50% across North America Compensation & Benefits Base salary is $60,000-$75,000 , with flexibility to go higher for a particularly strong candidate.
