Senior Sales Representative - Domestic Sales- Livingston, NJ Direct Hire | Hybrid at least 3 days in office (remote Mon & Tue) (Quarterly bonuses & Commission structure)(This position does not offer a relocation package or travel)
Summary:
This role is responsible for managing and growing strategic distributor accounts throughout the United States and Canada while maximizing revenue and profitability. Working closely with internal teams, you'll strengthen long-term customer relationships, identify growth opportunities, and support the company's commercial strategy within the Polyolefins Division.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with corporate and Polyolefins Division goals.

Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and pricing strategies to optimize product mix and profitability.

Provide market intelligence and strategic feedback to leadership.

Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and sales contracts; solicit orders and finalize agreements.

Partner with marketing and business development teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.

Develop pre-contract plans, identify key decision-makers, and initiate the sales process.

Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships through consistent engagement and responsiveness.

Coordinate internally to meet customer expectations and reinforce brand commitments.

Conduct ongoing research into competitive markets and customer needs.

Collaborate with Technical Service teams to support customers, resolve quality issues, and facilitate product development initiatives.

Manage pricing adjustments, payment discrepancies, and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Support resolution of service and quality-related issues.

Support monthly non-prime inventory reduction strategies.

Manage subsidy reporting for the Domestic Distribution Sales Team to sustain profitability.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or universityMBA, and/or Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science background preferred, but not required.3-7 years of experience with petrochemicals, plastics, polyolefins, or related polymer industries. Must be familiar with/have a background in Polyethylene and/or Polypropylene markets required.

Sales experience is preferred, but not required. Skills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of plastics and polyolefins markets, processes, and terminology.

Experience selling to distributors rather than direct end users.

Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required).Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret economic and technical data.

Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal leadership and customers.

CRM experience required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentations.

Proven ability to negotiate, problem-solve, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAdditional RequirementsWillingness to travel occasionally to meet with customers.

Reliable attendance and flexibility to work outside standard hours as needed.
