About us Community Broadband Networks (CBN) is a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) seeking an Events Sales Representative to join our growing team. We partner with officials in Auburn, NY to deliver affordable, high-speed internet to local families. Job Summary The Event Representative plays a vital role in strengthening Community Broadband Networks' connection to the communities we serve. This position focuses on building meaningful relationships, supporting local initiatives, and engaging residents at community events to increase awareness and adoption of our services. As a trusted community presence and brand ambassador, the Event Representative helps ensure that our broadband solutions support local needs while creating long-term value for residents, businesses, and community partners. Responsibilities Represent Community Broadband Networks at local events, community meetings, festivals, and networking functions to build authentic relationships with residents, community leaders, and local organizations. Foster partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, and influencers working closely with Area Marketing to strengthen community engagement and visibility. Support sales goals by educating community members on available services and helping them understand how our solutions meet their needs. Plan and execute community-focused initiatives, including sponsorships, pop-up events, MDU events, and outreach campaigns from start to finish. Engage with prospective and existing customers through conversations centered on listening, education, and solution-based recommendations. Identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience and escalate any concerns to the appropriate internal teams (e.g., Retention, Field Operations). Serve as a friendly, knowledgeable local point of contact, ensuring a welcoming and positive experience at all community engagements. Act as a resource for local teams by sharing insights on community feedback, engagement strategies, and local market trends. Assist with onboarding and training of new team members related to community engagement and outreach best practices. Collaborate with regional and corporate teams to align efforts, share best practices, and continuously improve community impact. Track and report event success using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as community interactions, leads generated, and services connected. Ensure events are well-organized, properly staffed, and reflective of Community Broadband Networks' values and brand standards. Maintain accurate documentation of events, partnerships, and customer interactions. Qualifications High school diploma required; Associated degree in Marketing, Communications, Community Engagement, or a related field strongly preferred. Experience in community outreach, event coordination, customer engagement, or sales. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for working with people. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Willingness to work evenings and weekends to support community events. Physical Requirements Ability to walk and stand for extended periods during events. Ability to transport and set up event equipment, supplies, and materials. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing within the state of current residence.
