Job Description

A well-respected agricultural retailer is looking for a Sales Agronomist to join its team. This role combines agronomy, seed, and crop input sales, customer service, and fieldwork. Key responsibilities include building grower relationships, developing fertility programs, and providing practical recommendations throughout the growing season.

Responsibilities Work directly with growers to provide agronomic advice and recommend seed, fertilizer, and crop inputs. Develop fertility programs based on soil test results, crop needs, and customer goals. Coordinate soil sampling and grid sampling programs. Interpret and present soil test results, fertility maps, and fertilizer recommendations. Conduct field visits to assess crop conditions and support growers throughout the season. Process customer orders, fertilizer tickets, and application records using agricultural retail software. Maintain accurate seed inventory, product information, and customer records. Support corn, soybean, and cover crop seed sales and marketing. Help growers plan seasonal input purchases and evaluate prepay options. Build lasting relationships through responsive service and dependable follow-through. Qualifications Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. Strong knowledge of crop production, soil fertility, and crop input products. Agricultural retail or agronomy experience preferred. Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) certification preferred, or willingness to pursue certification. Familiarity with agricultural retail software. Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities during busy seasons. Comfortable balancing office responsibilities with fieldwork. Sales mindset and an interest in helping growers succeed.
