Industrial Division Outside Sales Representative - Job Description 9/26
Purpose:
To grow, prospect, and maintain Bennett Supply Co's sales opportunities with qualified accounts in the sales territory via on site customer sales calls, and other direct customer communications. To project a professional, reliable, friendly, and responsible image of Bennett Supply Co. Exhibits actions and behaviors that encourage customer confidence in Bennett Supply Co. that increase sales in the territory. Assumes the role of the customer's primary contact and relationship owner on behalf of the company. The position reports to the Industrial Division Business Manager.
Scope:
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for sales growth, presenting Bennett's products, services, capabilities, and value to accounts in the territory. The accounts are Wood and Cabinet Shop fabrication accounts in the W. PA. market. This includes acquiring the necessary product, system, and competitive knowledge necessary to persuade accounts to purchase materials from Bennett Supply Co. The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing an annual sales budget that reflects anticipated sales growth, and sales activities with targeted accounts in the territory. The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for presenting, and implementing company sales initiatives, programming, and promotions in the territory. This includes reacting to relevant customer behaviors, competitive actions, development of quotations, perusing job leads and prospects, completing customer requests for literature, samples, and merchandising / display needs. The Outside Sales Representative works closely and informally with all Bennett Supply Co team members to assure the quality of customer transactions, and sales growth in the territory.
Job Duties :
Develops relationships with account contacts in the territory and serves as the Bennett contact for product presentations, product knowledge presentations, sampling and merchandising needs. Schedules sales calls and creates travel schedules to accommodate necessary company representation with each account in the territory.
Maintains / Updates
sampling and sales POP materials as necessary to support new product launch initiatives by Bennett Supply and its suppliers. Interacts with other Bennett Supply Company departmental teams to maximize results and business opportunities in the territory. Ability to navigate the Bennett Supply Company ERP system. Other related duties may be assigned as required. Qualifications and Skills Applicant must possess the following: Bachelors or Associates degree in the related fields of Marketing, Business Administration. 2 Years Industry experience. Communicate well in both oral and written formats with multiple levels of customer proficiencies. Ability to sell products and concepts. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to travel. Ability to make professional public presentations. Ability to safely / legally operate a company vehicle.

Physical Demands:
The individual in this position frequently communicates verbally with other employees and customers in the English language. The individual must posses the ability regularly identify characters on a computer screen. The individual for this position is sometimes responsible for moving boxes up to 30 pounds. Must posses a valid driver's license.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write coherent correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual needs to have knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Regular travel to accounts in company vehichle. Some home office, some in Bennett office work requirements. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Full TimeCompensation:
Commission + Salary subject to territory sales results, and development. Company healthcare benefits 100% for employee, and options for dependent coverage. Company vehicle. All operating expenses, maintenance and insurance is company-paid. Cell-phone reimbursement plan. Retirement 401K matching contributions. Reimbursement of normal business expenses, subject to monthly reporting.
