Full-time Job Title:
Business Development Associate Do you have a passion for people and technology? T.M. Bier & Associates is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Representative to support our continued growth across the New York Metropolitan market. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client-facing environment, enjoys building strategic partnerships, and is motivated to influence projects early in the design phase. A key focus of this position will be developing and maintaining relationships with MEP consulting engineers, positioning TMBA as the preferred controls partner during the specification phase. As a member of our business development and sales team, you will play a critical role in expanding our presence, strengthening industry relationships, and driving long-term growth across the region.

(TMBA) is one of the largest independent and privately owned Building Management System (BMS/ATC) /Control Systems Engineering and Support firms in the New York Metropolitan area. Since our founding in 1977, TMBA has specialized in providing turnkey Building Automation Systems and Energy Cost Reduction Measures. We provide innovative design, installation and true 24/7 service to our commercial office, high rise residential, hospital, hotel, university clients, amongst others. Our growing and loyal customer base is a testament to TMBA's quality product and dedicated service and is the nucleus for our steady growth.
Responsibilities:
Build and strengthen relationships with MEP consultants to gain leads and pre-position TMBA for future opportunities. Actively participate in client-facing industry, professional, and community organization events. Write specifications, sequence of operations and create network architectures. Drive sales opportunities through strong customer relationships and targeted account strategies, influencing early project specifications with MEPs to position TMBA as the preferred standard. Organize and participate in internal and external networking events and represent TMBA in client-facing activities. Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications teams on initiatives, events, and promotional materials, aligning branding with market engagement strategies. Assist technical leaders to develop an annual business development plan for securing clients and projects and participate in internal business development meeting agendas and action items. Maintain the CRM database and ensure thorough documentation of all business development activities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, similar engineering discipline, STEM degree or equivalent experience required. Minimum 2 years experience in HVAC industry and/or controls industry. Deep understanding of mechanical systems and/or associated building automation systems. Knowledge of Schneider Electric, Distech or Tridium preferred. Ability to attend networking events outside of business hours as needed. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proactive, responsive, outgoing and friendly manner. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite. Able to work autonomously. Pay:
Base salary of $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 +up to 10% end of year bonus based off KPI targets.
