Job Description

Business Development Representative Glendora Recovery Center Glendora, CA Job Details Part-time $25 - $27 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Continuing education credits Mileage reimbursement Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Interpersonal skills HIPAA Business development Driver's License Driving Full Job Description Glendora Recovery Center (GRC) is a DHCS-licensed, Joint Commission-accredited outpatient program for substance use and mental health, serving adolescents and adults across the San Gabriel Valley. We were built around a simple idea that the behavioral health industry too often forgets: healthcare should actually be about health and care. We are not a high-volume, marketing-first treatment mill. We are a small, clinically serious team — including leaders with lived recovery experience — who do this work because we believe in it. Our outpatient-only model, same-day admission, court-ordered program tracks, and specialized modalities (EMDR, art therapy, yoga, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy) exist to serve clients, not to sell beds. That difference is what we want our next Business Development Representative to go out and show the community. The Role This is not a quota-chasing sales seat dressed up in clinical language. It is a relationship role, the kind that only works when the person doing it actually cares about who they are talking to and what happens to the clients on the other end of a referral. You will be the face of GRC to therapists, psychiatrists, hospitals, attorneys, schools, churches, county agencies, and case managers across our region. Your job is to build real, durable, two-way partnerships with people who refer clients into treatment — and to make sure that when they send someone our way, they know exactly who they are sending them to and why. Volume is not the win. Trust is the win. Good fit is the win. A referral source who calls us back next year because the last client was treated well — that is the win. What You'll Do Build and maintain a master network of referral partners within roughly a 40-mile radius — therapists, psychiatrists, DUI and family law attorneys, hospitals, colleges, churches, county agencies, IOPs, sober livings, and case managers. Show up. Schedule in-person visits, lunches, and facility tours. Most of this work does not happen over email.
Tell our story honestly:
who we treat, how we treat them, what we do well, and where we are not the right fit. Honest referrals build longer relationships than oversold ones. Walk partners through what makes us different — outpatient-only, same-day admission, court-ordered tracks, adolescent and adult programs, EMDR, art therapy, yoga, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy — without making outcome claims we cannot back up. Coordinate closely with our clinical and admissions teams so that every warm handoff stays warm. Attend community events, clinician meet-and-greets, recovery community functions, and relevant CEU or networking opportunities. Track outreach, follow-ups, and partner feedback in our CRM. Notice patterns. Bring them back to the team. Operate fully within HIPAA, federal anti-kickback rules, California SB 823, and
CAN-SPAM.
We do this the right way, every time. Who You Are You are someone people want to hear from again. You are warm, prepared, and not pushy. You care about behavioral health. Maybe you have a clinical or recovery background. Maybe a family member's experience pulled you into this work. Either way, this is not just a paycheck for you. You have done business development, provider relations, community outreach, or admissions in behavioral health, healthcare, or a closely related field — or you have done something adjacent and can show us why this is your natural next step. You are comfortable in clinical settings and in front of clinicians. You can speak credibly about levels of care, modalities, and the realities of outpatient treatment without overstating what we do. You are organized. You actually follow up. The CRM is not your enemy. You know the difference between a partnership and a transaction, and you would rather walk away from the wrong one than force it. You have a valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and you are willing to be on the road across the region. Culture Fit Matters Here We are a small team and we protect our culture. We are direct with each other, we own our mistakes, and we do not tolerate the kind of marketing behavior that has given parts of this industry a bad name. We are not interested in head-hunting clients, paying for referrals, or making promises a treatment program cannot keep. If you have worked in places that felt like that and it left a bad taste in your mouth, we would like to talk to you. If that style is what you are looking for, we are not the right home for you. Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary commensurate with experience Performance-based incentives tied to relationship quality and partnership development — not raw admissions volume Medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid time off and paid holidays Mileage reimbursement Professional development and CEU support A team that will have your back How to Apply Send a resume and a short note — not a formal cover letter, just a few honest paragraphs — telling us why this role and why GRC. Tell us about a referral partnership you are proud of, or a moment in this field that shaped how you want to work.
