Job Description:

Summary:

Responsible for computing costs associated with HVAC equipment replacement. This position is required to closely interact with the Account Manager and/or branch staff to ensure timely completion of each quote.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible for computing cost for replacement equipment and accessories based on a description of unit specifications or by breaking down nomenclature. Responsible for the determination and quoting of equipment of proper size, configuration, voltage, options, etc. Selects and prices proper equipment per the plans and specifications. Creation of preliminary proposal. Responsible for identifying possible cost savings and/or cost problems that will occur on various projects. Supports sales and develops preliminary submittals as required. Maintains competitive advantage and stays abreast of industry trends. Maintains job-related supplied inventory by recording quantities required. Documents work by maintaining files for each job. Obtains and validates vendor quotes. Generates and distributes final proposal. Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.

Education/Experience:

Associate degree or one to three years experience in estimating, engineering or construction management; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with the operation of HVAC systems and temperature controls.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

•Ability to communicate (verbal, written) effectively with others.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals..

REASONING ABILITY

•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
