The East Coast Business Development Rep helps drive IPMG's expansion across NC, GA, SC, VA, FL, CT, TN, and PA, by building trusted relationships with retail agents. You'll identify new workers' compensation opportunities, deepen existing partnerships, and introduce agents to other IPMG products and services. This role operates remotely however candiates must be based in Atlanda, Charlotte, Nashville, or Knoxville. Applicants that do not currently reside in one of these cities, or metro areas will not be considered at this time. This role will require 50% travel, in the eastern region. Overnight travel as needed. What you'll do: Generate new business and drive revenue growth within assigned territory. Build and manage agent relationships; identify growth and cross-sell opportunities. Educate agents on IPMG products and services. Participate in agent visits, trade shows, and carrier events. Support underwriters with client service and retention strategies. Meet territory revenue, profitability, and carrier performance goals. Maintain accurate documentation and workflow compliance. Communicate promptly and professionally with agents, carriers, and internal teams. Additional tasks as requested by management.
Your background:
2+ years experience in insurance 3+ years sales experience Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment Strong data entry experience Ability to work independently, prioritize, and multi-task Resourceful, organized, self-directed approach Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry Insurance Producer's License for Casualty and Fire, or the ability to obtain licensure quickly Valid driver's license Bonus points: Experience handling a Workers Comp book of business An established network of agency connections in the Eastern region Proficiency with an insurance policy management system (i.e. AIM) and Hubspot Experience working remotely
Compensation:
The compensation for this role is on a base plus commission structure. Base pay is $50,000 to $65,000 annually, with commissions targeting around $18,000 annually, with the opportunity to increase. Starting pay is typically targeted around the midpoint of the appropriate band, based on relevant experience, skills, and internal equity. This position is eligible for the new business development rep bonus structure. The position is full-time, non-exempt.
