Job Description
About Jones Manufacturing Jones Manufacturing Company has produced the most durable, high-capacity, operator-oriented Hay Grinder and Mulch Grinder in the world — the Mighty Giant Tub Grinder. The quality and durability of this equipment stem from more than 50 years of hands-on, in-the-field experience with every Mighty Giant we build. Innovation begins at Jones Manufacturing. We were the first with a hydraulic opening tub (building our first unit in 1960), the first with an electronic governor, and the first with a hydrafork. From the single-discharge auger to the rubber-lagged top-drive elevator, no other grinder offers the features, capacity, and durability of a Mighty Giant. New products and new features can sometimes lead to new problems. At Jones Manufacturing, our team maintains relationships with our customers to ensure that all features and designs are field-tested in the same environment as our customers face. This same relationship gives us the feedback we need so that new designs and innovations are the result of experience, not marketing hype. Job Summary We're looking for a Regional Sales Representative to grow Mighty Giant sales across an assigned territory. This is a field-based role; you'll spend most of your time on-site with customers, at their operations, and at industry events with regular time in our Beemer, NE office when you're not in the field. The ideal candidate is based somewhere in the Omaha to Sioux City corridor, positioning you close to both your territory and our office. You'll work closely with the Sales Manager, Operations, Engineering, and the CFO to make sure customers get the right equipment, the right price, and the right delivery timeline — while helping Jones Manufacturing hit its sales goals and protect its margins. Duties Identify and pursue new prospects through cold calling, telemarketing, and market development, in addition to managing existing accounts Present Jones Manufacturing's product lines and capabilities to prospective customers and dealers Prepare and submit timely, accurate price and service quotes Own the customer relationship end-to-end — from prospecting through order submission to Sales-Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and the CFO Set and meet pricing, pickup, and service targets for each market segment in your territory Track sales activity through call logs and planned sales-call reports Assist the CFO with past-due invoice collections as needed Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity, and new product developments Represent Jones Manufacturing at association meetings, trade shows, and vendor events (some travel by air or auto required, in all weather conditions) Report on bids, orders, sales revenue, and margin performance Required High school diploma Valid driver's license At least 3 years of business-to-business and business-to-customer sales experience in the Agricultural Equipment market, including cold calling, telemarketing, and new market development Preferred College coursework in sales, business management, or a related field 7+ years of relevant sales experience, including at least 3 years in the Agricultural Equipment industry Familiarity with Agricultural and/or Industrial Grinding markets Other Qualities Strong prospecting and sales technique Comfort with phone systems, computers, VPN's, and internet-based tools Excellent communication and listening skills, with sharp attention to detail The ability to manage multiple sales presentations and priorities at once A self-starter mindset; the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision Working Conditions This role is primarily field-based, with most time spent at customer locations and job sites throughout the year and in all weather conditions. When not traveling, you'll be based out of our Beemer, NE office.
