Blue Ridge Behavioral Health is a co-occurring substance use and mental health treatment facility. The Business Development & Marketing Representative is responsible for supporting organizational growth through referral development, community engagement, strategic marketing initiatives, and relationship management. This position serves as a liaison between the organization and referral sources, healthcare partners, community agencies, employers, and stakeholders to increase awareness of behavioral health services and generate qualified admissions. The representative will develop and maintain referral relationships, execute outreach strategies, support marketing efforts, and promote the organization's mental health, substance use disorder, and co-occurring disorder treatment services throughout assigned markets. Essential Functions Business Development
- Develop and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, behavioral health providers, therapists, physicians, social workers, EAPs, school systems, employers, veteran organizations, first responder agencies, and community partners.
- Conduct regular outreach activities including face-to-face visits, presentations, networking events, virtual meetings, and follow-up communications.
- Identify and cultivate new referral sources within assigned territories.
- Execute territory growth plans designed to increase referrals and admissions.
- Educate referral partners regarding levels of care, program offerings, admission criteria, insurance participation, and treatment outcomes.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, professional associations, community events, and educational programs.
- Support the admissions department through relationship management and referral coordination. Marketing & Community Engagement
- Assist with implementation of marketing strategies that support organizational growth and brand awareness.
- Coordinate community outreach activities and educational events.
- Assist with social media campaigns, website content, newsletters, email marketing, and promotional materials.
- Maintain a consistent and professional brand presence within assigned markets.
- Identify marketing opportunities that increase visibility among referral sources and target populations.
- Promote organizational services and resources throughout the community. Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain trusted partnerships with referral sources and community stakeholders.
- Conduct routine follow-up with referral partners to strengthen engagement and increase referral volume.
- Address concerns, questions, and service needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop account-specific growth strategies for key referral partners.
- Maintain positive working relationships that support long-term organizational growth. Reporting & Data Management
- Accurately document outreach activities, referral interactions, and account information within CRM systems.
- Monitor referral activity and market trends.
- Analyze territory performance and referral data to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports regarding outreach activity, referral development, admissions outcomes, and territory performance.
- Maintain accurate records and accountability for assigned accounts and territories. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred. Experience
- Minimum of two years of experience in healthcare marketing, business development, admissions, sales, community outreach, or relationship management preferred.
- Behavioral health, mental health, healthcare, or substance use treatment experience strongly preferred.
- Experience utilizing CRM systems and tracking performance metrics preferred.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
