Job Description
US Foods is hiring a Class A Delivery Driver to safely transport foodservice products from our distribution center to restaurants, healthcare, and hospitality customers. In this performance-driven, customer-focused role, you will operate CDL Class A equipment, complete pre- and post-trip inspections, and follow DOT and company safety standards. You will unload product using liftgate and hand truck, verify deliveries, handle returns, and deliver outstanding customer service. Responsibilities Safely operate CDL Class A tractor-trailer to deliver foodservice products to customer locations on assigned routes Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, following DOT and company safety standards Unload products using liftgate, hand truck, or pallet jack; verify orders and obtain customer signatures Provide professional customer service, resolving basic delivery issues and communicating shortages or returns Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules while complying with DOT hours-of-service rules Maintain accurate delivery, mileage, and log records using electronic logging devices and company systems Handle returned goods, refused product, and discrepancies according to company procedures Communicate with dispatch and supervisors regarding delays, issues, or equipment concerns Adhere to all food safety, product handling, and temperature control requirements Required Skills CDL Class A truck driving Commercial vehicle safety and inspections Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service rules Route navigation and time management Use of liftgates, pallet jacks, and hand trucks Electronic logging devices (ELDs) and basic onboard technology Order verification and documentation Food safety and product handling Customer service and communication Basic mechanical awareness for reporting equipment issues
