Job Description
Counter Sales Representative Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the frontline representative of our electrical distribution business, providing exceptional service to electrical contractors, industrial customers, commercial accounts, and walk-in customers. Your product knowledge, sales expertise, and commitment to customer service will help drive customer satisfaction, support daily operations, and promote our broad range of electrical products and solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about sales, customer relationships, and the electrical industry in a fast-paced distribution environment. Duties Assist customers in selecting electrical products, tools, lighting, distribution equipment, wire and cable, automation products, and related materials by understanding project requirements and providing knowledgeable solutions. Manage inventory levels through stock replenishment, cycle counts, stock rotation, and accurate inventory control using the company's inventory management and ERP systems. Process customer orders, quotes, sales transactions, and returns accurately while maintaining attention to detail and pricing accuracy. Build strong customer relationships through effective communication, product knowledge, and exceptional customer service to support customer retention and business growth. Provide technical product support and application guidance on electrical systems, lighting, controls, distribution equipment, and related products. Maintain organized sales counters, displays, and product shelving while ensuring a clean, professional, and safe work environment. Coordinate with warehouse personnel and inside sales teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Demonstrate excellent phone and email communication skills when responding to customer inquiries, product availability requests, and order status updates. Assist with sourcing special-order materials and identifying alternative products to meet customer timelines and project needs. Maintain accurate records of customer transactions, quotations, inventory movements, and sales activities to support efficient branch operations. Stay current on industry products, manufacturer offerings, and emerging technologies to better support customer needs and drive sales opportunities. Experience Previous experience in electrical distribution, counter sales, inside sales, construction supply, industrial supply, or a related industry preferred. Strong knowledge of electrical products, including wiring devices, conduit, wire and cable, lighting, switchgear, distribution equipment, controls, and related materials preferred. Experience with ERP systems, order entry platforms, inventory management software, and point-of-sale systems is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret electrical material lists, project specifications, and customer requirements. Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus and can help support a diverse customer base. Experience working with electrical contractors, industrial customers, maintenance personnel, or commercial construction projects is advantageous. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend effective solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Pay:
