Job Description
About Equipped Painting Equipped Painting is a growing residential painting company serving homeowners throughout the greater Seattle area. But we don't see ourselves as simply a painting company. We pursue people, not projects. We were built around hospitality and creating an elevated customer experience in an industry where communication, professionalism, and genuine service can often be overlooked. We operate on biblical values and are faith-forward in how we lead, serve, and care for people. We believe in doing the right thing, serving without expectation, taking ownership of what we can control, and continually improving at our craft. Our goal isn't to be the cheapest painting company. We want to be the company homeowners trust with their homes and confidently recommend to their friends and family. That starts with Sales. Who We're Looking For We're looking for a high-performing, competitive salesperson who also genuinely loves serving people. Someone who can walk into a homeowner's home, make them feel comfortable, ask great questions, understand what they're trying to accomplish, and confidently guide them toward the right decision. You want to win. You want your income to reflect your performance. You take ownership instead of making excuses. You're coachable enough to receive feedback and competitive enough to do something with it. And while you're motivated by closing sales, you understand something important: The person matters more than the project. We don't want someone who pressures people into signing contracts they don't need. We want someone who can lead the sale.
When a homeowner says:
"I need to think about it." "We're getting a few other estimates." "Your price is higher than we expected." You don't immediately assume you've lost the sale. You get curious. You ask better questions. You uncover what's actually holding them back, create clarity, communicate our value, and confidently ask for the business when you've earned it. Great sales isn't about pressure. It's about leadership. You May Be aGreat Fit If You Are:
Competitive and results-driven Naturally personable and hospitable Confident asking for the sale Strong at building trust and rapport Curious and willing to ask meaningful questions Comfortable navigating objections Self-motivated and accountable Highly coachable Organized with follow-up and pipeline management Comfortable working independently in the field Motivated by uncapped earning potential Constantly looking for ways to improve Someone who takes pride in becoming exceptional at your craft Painting experience is helpful, but character, sales ability, and coachability matter more to us. We can teach you our products, estimating process, and painting systems. We're looking for the right person first. What You'll Do As an In-Home Sales Consultant, you'll meet homeowners at their properties for scheduled consultations and guide them through the sales process from initial conversation through signed agreement.Your responsibilities will include:
Meet homeowners for scheduled in-home consultations Build genuine rapport and trust Ask questions to understand their goals, concerns, priorities, timeline, and decision-making process Inspect and measure interior and exterior painting projects Develop accurate scopes of work and estimates Educate homeowners on their options Present proposals confidently during the appointment Clearly communicate Equipped Painting's value Ask for the sale Navigate objections without immediately discounting Follow up consistently with open opportunities Generate additional opportunities through your own relationships, networking, referrals, prospecting, and community involvement Maintain accurate notes and pipeline information in company systems Create a strong handoff to our Customer Success and Production teams Continuously develop your sales skills through coaching, training, and self-improvement What Success Looks Like We don't measure success simply by how many appointments you run. We care about results and how those results are achieved. You'll have clear expectations and scorecards around areas such as: Revenue Sold Close Rate Average Project Size Follow-Up Self-Generated Opportunities Customer Experience We believe in knowing your numbers, owning your results, and continually sharpening your axe —becoming more proficient and effective at what you do. We'll provide the coaching, systems, feedback, and support. We expect you to take ownership of applying them. Leads & Opportunity You are not expected to build your entire pipeline from scratch. Equipped Painting invests in marketing and lead generation to provide our Sales team with qualified homeowner opportunities. We also want someone who doesn't sit around waiting for the next lead. We heavily reward salespeople who create opportunities themselves through relationships, referrals, networking, community involvement, prospecting, and their own initiative. That's why self-generated business earns a significantly higher commission. Compensation This is a commission-based sales position with uncapped earning potential. Commission Structure 8% commission on company-provided leads you close into a sale 13% commission on self-generated leads you close into a sale There is no commission cap.We provide:

The more you sell, the more you earn. The more opportunities you create yourself, the more you're rewarded.
