This role involves understanding manufacturing capabilities, interpreting technical drawings, and delivering exceptional service to both new and existing customers. Customer Engagement & Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound customer inquiries, quotes, and orders. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and timely follow-up. Identify opportunities for additional services, repeat business, and new customer development. Attend trade shows to assist Business Development Manager with customer relations and lead generation. To be main point of contact for the department in the event of the supervisor/manager's absence. Quoting & Order Processing Prepare accurate and timely quotes for machined parts, castings, patterns, and secondary operations. Interpret technical drawings, material specifications, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements. Collaborate with engineering, production, and estimating teams to verify pricing, lead times, and feasibility. Enter orders into the ERP system and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate. Sales & Production Coordination Communicate customer requirements to internal teams and ensure alignment on schedules and deliverables. Track job progress and update customers on order status, changes, and delivery expectations. Work with scheduling and operations to help prioritize high‑impact orders. Administrative & Reporting Maintain accurate sales records, CRM updates, and quoting logs. Support month-end reporting and forecasting activities. Assist in preparing sales materials, customer presentations, and product information. Support Objectives, Goals and Targets related to QEMS and certifications for ISO9001, IATF16949 and
ISO14001.
Skills Must have the ability to perform all essential functions as required by the position Must have computer skills in Microsoft, Word, Excel, Outlook Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills Must have a customer service mindset with a sense of urgency Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to travel overnight 2-3 times per year.
