Boston, MA 02108 Full-time / Hybrid (3 days in office / week) Our client is a growing B2B software company hiring its first Sales Development Manager to stand up a brand-new SDR function in Boston. The company's platform is used by many large enterprise customers and has strong traction within the technical and developer community it serves. This is a true player-coach position. You'll build the team from the ground up — hiring, onboarding, and developing SDRs who convert inbound interest and run targeted outbound prospecting into a steady stream of qualified pipeline. Success in this role means partnering tightly with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to translate demand signals — inbound requests, product engagement, buying intent, event activity, and account-level interest — into real sales opportunities. Responsibilities Interview, hire, and train new SDRs who ramp up and produce quickly Provide daily, hands-on coaching across prospecting, cold outreach, email, qualification, objection handling, and booking meetings Lead pipeline reviews, call coaching sessions, live role-plays, and regular 1:1s Set clear performance standards for activity, meetings booked, and pipeline generated Make sure high-intent inbound leads get fast, consistent follow-up Stay hands-on — jumping into live calls or prospecting when it's useful What You Bring 3+ years in B2B technology sales or a sales development function 2+ years directly managing an SDR or BDR team A proven ability to identify and grow early-career sales talent Solid grasp of both inbound lead qualification and proactive outbound prospecting Hands-on coaching experience in cold calling, outbound email, objection handling, and discovery A genuinely hands-on leadership style — you're on calls, running role-plays, and coaching in real time Benefits & Culture Equity for US-based employees 100% paid medical benefits + vision, and dental coverage Generous PTO and 10 paid holidays (10) 401K (3% match) #ZR-PRO #LI-JM1
