Position Summary:
The Sales Supervisor is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing daily sales operations, leading and motivating our sales associates, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience. This role demands a proactive leader with a proven ability to drive sales, cultivate a high-performing team, and uphold our company's commitment to best practices and compliance within a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales associates to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets. Provide ongoing training and coaching on product knowledge, sales techniques, customer service excellence, and company policies/procedures. Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-driven team environment that embodies our company culture. Assist in scheduling, delegating tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow during shifts.
Sales & Operations:
Drive sales performance through effective team supervision, suggestive selling techniques, and merchandising. Oversee the daily opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management in compliance with state regulations. Ensure the sales floor is well-maintained, stocked, and visually appealing. Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints professionally, and ensure a consistently positive experience.
Compliance & Best Practices:
Ensure strict adherence to all Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC) regulations, company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and security protocols. Promote and enforce best practices in sales, customer service, and dispensary operations. Conduct regular quality checks to ensure product accuracy and proper documentation.
Reporting & Communication:
Report on sales performance, team productivity, and operational issues to management. Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2+ years of proven leadership or supervisory experience in a retail or sales environment. Demonstrated success in driving sales and achieving performance targets. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, train, and develop a sales team.
Exceptional people skills:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong organizational and multitasking skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business needs. Solid understanding of retail operations, including POS systems, cash handling, and inventory control. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check as required by Maryland state regulations for cannabis industry employment. High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred. Prior experience in the cannabis industry is a plus, but not required if management experience is strong. Knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods preferred (training will be provided).
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Comfortable working in an environment with cannabis products and associated odors. Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
