Job Description

Brand President Automotive 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 2220 Chemsearch Boulevard, Irving, TX 75062 Full-time AutoNation 4,458 reviews Full-time As a Brand President, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing brand performance by maintaining effective strategic partnerships with automotive manufacturers (OEMs). Your responsibilities will include forging strong relationships with OEM corporate contacts, analyzing market trends, optimizing sales and aftersales processes, and ensuring alignment with AutoNation's strategic objectives. Meet key OE corporate contacts Learn all key OE measurables Obtain logins for all OE portals Map all sales and aftersales PMAs. Consider third party market study Obtain all Regional and local distribution lists Complete site survey and store visits for key stores (eventually all) Observe/evaluate process execution for key positions and top and bottom stores Identify staffing levels for all Sales Associates, Service Advisors and Technicians Review survey trends and hotspots Complete employee Satisfaction Survey / 360 GM Evaluations Mystery-shop our stores and top performing competitors Observe/Conduct MOR/QOR with MP and store
Process:
Identify focus stores below minimum standards and establish realistic timeline to "fix" In partnership with the GMs and market teams, create action plans that incorporate key business drivers: o How many units, surveys, ROs, etc. are needed to achieve efficiency with a timeline o Staffing needed to deliver results (workforce planning) with timeline o Develop incentive programs to align behaviors with business strategy (i.e., spiffs, pay changes, bonus tiers, etc.) o Targeted marketing plans to promote zips and models o Develop vehicle configuration, stocking, and pricing strategy o Identify training gaps Drive accountability through training, coaching and performance modification as appropriate
People/Support:
Will need direct support for analytics, Facilities, Marketing, and HR teammates Consider centralizing/identifying a few inventory and pricing specialists Consider call center support of sales and aftersales traffic management Training (probably OE, but consider in house support if possible) Consider partnering a struggling GM with a successful one Monthly performance calls with specific topics and best practice sharing Create store scorecard for each OE metric and rank in quartiles Calculate units needed to reach sales and aftersales efficiency, surveys needed to hit top quartile, etc. Create standardized sales efficiency template to understand by model/zip coded deficiencies Identify and diagnose all standard AN process reporting
Technology:
Sales Efficiency "Dashboard" with PMA overlay. Either manually build or create a direct integration if possible. Build or outsource. Consider this concept for other key OE metrics to help diagnose opportunities and conduct root cause analysis. Make it available to store associates. Third party Inventory/Pricing/Build data (JD Power, etc.) Direct integration with IHS/Polk for sales registration data
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field of study with any combination of relevant background, skills, and experience. 7+ years' Regional VP/National level for Automotive OEM manufacturing or automotive retail platform management experience. Extensive experience and demonstrated background in both OEM manufacturing and retail industry ideal to collectively consider solutions and develop meaningful and positive business transactions/negotiations Sound demonstrated knowledge of framework agreements, margin structures and financial statements. Excellent communication. negotiation and organizational skills Sound understanding of both retail/dealership operations and OEM operations Broad understanding of legal and compliance requirements within the automotive industry Ability to share knowledge effectively and efficiently across a myriad of subjects Manage multiple projects at one time across over a dozen OEMs Maintain composure and demeanor in demanding situations Keep ability to understand and convey messaging while balancing the needs of the company, Region, Stores and Executive Management Ability to remain proactive in looking for unique ways to solve complex problems throughout the enterprise
