Job Description
Estimated earning potential:
$100,000-$250,000+ annually , depending on production, deal volume, and individual performance. There is no traditional salary or hourly wage. This is an independent 1099 commission-based position with uncapped earning potential. What You'll Do Meet with homeowners to evaluate their energy needs and solar goals Conduct professional in-home or virtual solar consultations Analyze electricity usage and homeowner energy consumption Design residential solar systems and proposals Use Aurora to create and present system designs Explain system production, offset, savings, and financial benefits Present both PPA and traditional financing options Handle homeowner questions and objections Negotiate and close residential solar agreements Follow up with prospects throughout the sales cycle Manage your pipeline and maintain consistent follow-up Work company-provided leads Generate your own leads through referrals, networking, prospecting, and other methods Maintain a high level of professionalism throughout the customer experience Work with the ECOcentrix team to ensure a smooth transition from sale to installation QualificationsRequired 3+ years of residential solar sales experience Proven track record of closing residential solar deals Strong understanding of residential solar financing Experience selling PPAs and/or traditional solar loans Experience using Aurora Solar for system design Ability to confidently present solar system designs and financial proposals Strong understanding of solar production, offset, utility rates, and homeowner savings Proven objection-handling and closing skills Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to manage your own sales pipeline Self-motivated and comfortable working independently Willingness to generate some of your own leads Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Experience selling in an Illinois utility market Existing relationships or network within the Ameren Illinois territory Consistent history of meeting or exceeding sales goals Experience with both PPA and loan products Strong Aurora Solar proficiency Referral-based or self-generated sales experience What We're Looking For We're looking for closers — not appointment setters. The ideal candidate already knows how to: Consult → Design → Present → Overcome Objections → Close You should be comfortable sitting across from a homeowner, understanding their electricity usage, building a solar solution in Aurora, explaining the economics, presenting financing options, and asking for the sale. You should also be comfortable creating your own opportunities rather than relying entirely on company-provided leads.
