Job Description
Overview As a Produce Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the freshness and quality of our produce section. You will be responsible for maintaining the display of fruits and vegetables, assisting customers with their selections, and ensuring that the produce area is clean and well-organized. This position requires a combination of customer service skills and physical stamina, as you will be involved in heavy lifting and operating equipment. Responsibilities Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the produce section to ensure a welcoming shopping environment. Load and unload produce deliveries, ensuring that all items are handled with care. Use a forklift or pallet jack to move large quantities of produce efficiently within the warehouse or store. Assist customers by providing information on various fruits and vegetables, helping them make informed purchasing decisions. Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking shelves as needed to ensure product availability. Perform regular quality checks on produce to ensure freshness and remove any expired or damaged items. Ordering Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain high standards of customer service. Skills Experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred, with strong communication skills to engage effectively with customers. Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack safely; certification may be required. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting tasks, including moving boxes of produce weighing up to 50 pounds. Strong attention to detail for maintaining product quality and cleanliness in the work area. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of produce varieties is a plus, along with an eagerness to learn about new products and sales techniques.
