This opportunity centers on working closely with a 10th-grade male student presenting moderate to severe behavioral needs. You'll offer essential guidance throughout the school day—including riding the bus with the student—to help foster a safe and productive learning experience on campus. This full-time, onsite role calls for dedication, compassion, and adaptability. As you'll be collaborating with teachers and special education teams, your efforts will empower student growth and create a positive educational atmosphere.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting, particularly with students who have behavioral or special needs Comfort and expertise in supporting students with moderate to severe behavior challenges Willingness and ability to ride the bus with the student before and after school Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin highly preferred Strong communication and de-escalation skills Collaborative approach within multidisciplinary teams High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certifications in special education support a plus

Core Responsibilities:

Provide individualized support for a 10th-grade student with behavioral challenges Implement strategies from the student's educational and behavioral plans Foster a calm, structured environment and respond compassionately during escalated behaviors Accompany the student on the bus and ensure safety throughout transitions Record data on student progress and communicate regularly with staff and family, as needed Assist with academic tasks and encourage social and life-skills development With the stability of a multi-year contract, this position offers the opportunity to build meaningful connections and truly make a difference.
