THE STOCK YARDS STORY
We've been providing chefs with expertly cut and portioned beef and pork for over 120 years, based on rigid meat-selection criteria, precise beef aging and expert trimming. Primary role of Sanitation Crew Member is cleaning of the plant production equipment and facility to meet food safety, customer quality, and worker safety requirements.
Schedule:
M-F 6:00 am - 2:30pm Stock Yards - Hawthorne
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Each item should account for 10% or more)
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation of plant equipment and environment in a through and safe manner.
  • Operate cleaning systems and equipment as trained and specified.
  • Ensure all quality assurance (Pre-Op) checks are performed at designated intervals.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping of performed testing and recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory regulations.
  • Adhere to all current SOP's, procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility and common areas.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships and communications with employees from all other departments.
  • Obtain and maintain training, certifications, and licenses that are required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned that are necessary, required, or directed by plant management.

    Required interaction with all employees of responsibility throughout the company
      External:
      NA QUALIFICATIONS
      Education/Training:
      High School Diploma/GED preferred. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations. Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Must be able to work continually in a refrigerated environment 35°F- 45°F. Must be able to work for periods of time in a freezer environment -10°F to +10°F with company provided apparel. Finish time is when work is completed and could require overtime with or without notice.
      Related Experience/Requirements:
      Minimum one year sanitation, production or warehouse experience required, preferably in a food environment.
      WORK ENVIRONMENT
      The work environment is cool and wet with temperatures ranging from 34 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Ability to wear personal protective equipment. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $20.00 and $21.84 hr.
