In this vital role, you'll be the friendly face at the checkout counter and the knowledgeable guide in our produce department. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth transactions, engaging product demonstrations, and a welcoming environment that keeps customers coming back. Duties Operate the cash register (POS system) efficiently to process retail sales transactions with accuracy and speed Handle cash drawer operations, including cash handling, balancing registers, and ensuring transaction accuracy Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product selections Set the wet rack and produce retail presentation. Upsell complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities Stock shelves with fresh produce and retail store products, maintaining organized displays and proper merchandising standards Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone inquiries or orders Support merchandising efforts by arranging produce displays attractively and restocking as needed Assist with produce ordering and inventory control Experience Previous experience in setting and maintaining conditions in a produce department are required. Previous experience with POS systems and retail sales transactions is required. Supervising experience in retail or food service environments is a plus for leadership opportunities Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse customers Familiarity with retail math for cash handling, balancing tills, and managing sales totals accurately Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, especially produce items, to assist customers effectively Experience in customer service roles that involve phone etiquette and upselling techniques Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks related to stocking and merchandising Join us to be part of a lively team dedicated to delivering top-notch service while developing your retail expertise.
