Job Description

SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing of one or more of the following product categories/departments: Produce, Chill, Dairy, Freezer, Meat, Poultry, Seafood, Oriental foods, Grocery, Nonfoods, Beverages, and Floral.
DUTIES INCLUDE
Customer Service. Assists customers with questions about merchandise and advises on merchandise selection. Monitor quality standards of products; identifies items not meeting quality standards and reports to store management. Address customer complaints as needed. Assist customers with heavy, bulky items. Orders & Merchandising. Keeps shelves stocked and merchandised. Identifies items to be reordered or replenished when inventory drops to a specified level and communicates with manager and/or buyer to fill those needs. May assist with special orders. Actively looks for new items to sell in the store. Be sure signage on all items are placed with proper corresponding products. Sets up new product displays in the store. Receiving/Stocking Unpacks and stocks merchandise as needed to replenish from back stock. Keep aisles clear from tripping hazards. Cleans, organizes and stocks displays, shelves and aisles. Gives direction to stock clerks regarding merchandising & stocking needs. General housekeeping. Keep work areas and store premises clean and orderly. Take immediate corrective action to clean and keep aisles and floors free from slipping and tripping hazards. Safety. Reports and takes immediate action to correct safety hazards. Reports unsafe acts to store management. Conducts regular, daily safety inspections of the store to ensure safety for customers and employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to meet the physical and mental requirements to perform the essential job functions and be able to work a flexible schedule. Category knowledge and expertise is required. Merchandising and par ordering experience required. Basic computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires continuous standing, frequent walking, frequent carrying up to 40 pounds, and occasional lifting and carrying up to 80 pounds.
