Job Description

Animal Health Department Head Reports to: Store Manager, Assistant Manager or Supervisor on
Duty Classification:
Non-Exempt / Hourly, FULL-TIME
JOB SUMMARY
: To provide the best customer service and maximize sales through efficient execution of Company procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: Help customers with special order requests and locating merchandise. Inform customers of product knowledge that may be helpful. Verify proper product rotation and basic stocking of merchandise in multiple departments. Basic knowledge of Farm & Home web-based Intranet and the Outfitter. Remove damaged merchandise from floor as needed. Review and correct outages and overstocks to supply proper inventory levels. Follow company guidelines for department merchandising and setting store ads and sale signage. Identify and display of new items at their designated location in department with Management approval. Demonstrate strong merchandising presentation skills for in-aisles, end caps and displays. Ensure a safe and clean work environment, while following loss prevention and safety procedures. Regular Area Safety checks. Attend store and job-related meetings along with reviewing the F&H Weekly Update. Professionally communicate with Customers, Management, and all store employees. Follow all applicable Company, local, state, and federal guidelines. Assist with price changes, markdowns & labeling of merchandise. Operate cash registers and assists with customer carry outs. Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Maintain an organized stock room area. Complete the required on-line Job Training available on our Outfitters website. Consistent attendance for regularly scheduled shifts is required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
: Complete special projects directed by management and additional responsibilities may be assigned throughout the store at any given time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS-EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Minimum Age requirement is 18 years old. Must possess great customer service and communication skills. Six months of previous retail experience is preferred. Positive attitude with a passion for collaborating with Team Members that want to succeed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds occasionally engaging in assisted lifting over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
