Position Summary The Deli & Prepared Food Associate is the face of our deli counter, a knowledgeable, friendly team member who takes pride in delivering outstanding service and maintaining the quality and presentation our customers expect. Whether slicing meats and cheeses to order, helping a customer choose the perfect dish from our Gourmet to Go counter, or keeping the department spotless and fully stocked, you'll play a central role in what makes Srodek's special. Key Responsibilities Slice, weigh, package, and label deli meats and cheeses accurately per customer request and company standards. Display, package, weigh, price, and merchandise Gourmet to Go prepared food items per company guidelines. Assist customers with orders and product questions; offer samples as appropriate to enhance the shopping experience. Greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous, and excellent service throughout their visit. Properly handle, stock, prepare, and display all deli and prepared food products to quality and food safety standards. Operate slicers and all authorized equipment safely in accordance with company policies and safety guidelines. Manage product dates across the department; apply promotional pricing when necessary to minimize waste. Handle damaged or spoiled product per company and department guidelines; assist in controlling the level of damaged goods. Maintain a neat, organized department and always uphold personal grooming and dress standards. Assist in other departments and support training of associates as needed. Perform stocking and additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications & Requirements Prior experience in a deli, food service, or grocery environment preferred; willingness to train the right candidate will be considered. Knowledge of deli products, specialty meats, cheeses, and prepared foods is a plus. Ability to operate deli slicers and related equipment safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail, particularly around product quality, dating, labeling, and weights and measures compliance. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor. Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player. Familiarity with Polish or European specialty foods is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly. Comfortable working in cold/refrigerated environments for extended periods.
