Grocery Stock SupervisorPosition Summary The Grocery Stock Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily stocking and replenishment of merchandise to ensure exceptional product availability, store presentation, and inventory accuracy. This role leads the grocery stocking team, coordinates deliveries, places orders, minimizes waste, and ensures shelves remain fully stocked while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized department. The Stock Supervisor plays a key role in delivering an outstanding shopping experience and maximizing sales. Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Product Availability Ensure shelves, displays, and promotional areas remain fully stocked throughout the day. Monitor inventory levels and identify out-of-stock or low-stock items. Place accurate and timely orders based on sales trends, seasonal demand, and inventory levels. Review daily inventory reports and adjust ordering as needed. Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to maintain freshness. Conduct regular stock counts and assist with inventory management. Deliveries & Stocking Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries for accuracy and quality. Organize backroom inventory for efficient storage and replenishment. Coordinate the unloading and stocking of deliveries with the team. Ensure products are stocked quickly, safely, and according to company merchandising standards. Maintain neat, organized, and accessible stockrooms. Waste & Shrink Control Monitor product dates and remove expired or damaged merchandise. Implement procedures to reduce waste, shrink, and inventory loss. Investigate recurring inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of damaged goods and credits. Team Leadership Supervise, train, and motivate stock associates to meet productivity and quality standards. Assign daily tasks and monitor completion. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Provide coaching and performance feedback to team members. Ensure company policies and safety procedures are followed. Store Standards Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and merchandising. Ensure pricing, shelf tags, and signage are accurate. Support promotional displays and seasonal merchandising plans. Assist other departments when business needs require. Customer Service Provide friendly, professional customer service. Assist customers in locating products and answering questions. Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. Help create a welcoming shopping experience through excellent store presentation. Qualifications Previous grocery, retail, or inventory management experience preferred. Supervisory or leadership experience is an asset. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and problem-solving abilities. Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory/order management systems. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in refrigerated and warehouse environments. Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
