In Person About the Position Hearts Thrift Stores is looking for a dependable and hardworking Donation Processor & Receiver (DPR) to join our team in Niagara Falls. The DPR plays an important role in keeping our store running by helping move donated goods from our community to the retail sales floor. This is an active, hands-on position that includes working with donors, receiving and sorting donations, pricing merchandise, and preparing items for the retail team. What You'll Do Receive and process donations from members of the community Welcome donors and provide friendly, respectful customer service Assist donors with unloading donations and issue donation receipts Share the Hearts Thrift Stores mission and thank donors for their support Screen incoming donations according to company guidelines Sort and separate donated materials Identify quality merchandise and seek guidance from management when needed Price, tag, and organize merchandise for the retail sales floor Work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment Meet daily production expectations and accurately report production numbers Communicate any challenges or barriers that may affect production Keep donation, presort, processing, and staging areas clean, organized, and ready for the next shift Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management Follow company policies, procedures, donation guidelines, and pricing standards Work with volunteers and provide clear direction when needed Work independently and responsibly to complete assigned duties Follow the Code of Conduct outlined in the employee handbook Perform other duties as assigned What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, organized, and comfortable working in an active environment.
Successful candidates will have:
Reliable and punctual attendance Availability to work flexible shifts Monday-Saturday Ability to work a minimum of two Saturdays per month Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong customer service and communication skills Attention to detail Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods Ability to lift and move boxes and bags of donated items weighing up to 35 pounds Basic computer skills, including email, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and point-of-sale systems High school diploma or GED preferred Retail or sales experience preferred Experience working with volunteers preferred Why Work With Hearts?
