Produce Fruit Cut Specialist (Part Time, Day Shifts)

Job Description Cut Produce Specialist General PurposeThe Cut Produce Specialist provides customer-friendly service to our valuable customers and provides the quality products that Adams is known for. This means fulfilling customer requests, keeping the cut fruit and vegetable displays stocked and rotated, keeping the department clean, and being the final line for quality control in the department.

Non-exempt Reports to: Produce Manager, Produce Assistant Manager, Produce Supervisor Job DescriptionEnsure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable serviceGreet customers personally and thank them appreciatively for shopping at Adams Order supplies needed for packing out cut fruits and vegetablesCommunicate with manager to ensure enough produce is ordered for the cut fruit & veggie program Prepare all ready to go itemsPrepare products for sales floor, including packing out, weighing and pricing all itemsKeep a runner list to track how many of each product are needed on a daily basisStock and rotate cut fruits and vegetablesDemonstrate knowledge of product in order to assist customers and help associates; be aware of sale items and pricingMaintain proper levels of stock throughout the department to ensure freshness, quality and availabilityRotate all products to ensure freshness and all times Keep cut fruit and vegetable cases and displays full and organized with correct signageRotate products to keep older product in front and stock cases and displays, making sure product is correctly labeled and there are no empty spacesRegularly check all products for qualityReceive and put away deliveries; check products arriving for qualityTake customer orders both in person and on the phoneBe the final line for quality control: look for packaging issues, sell-by dates, and be vigilant about quality and presentation of all products put out for sale Keep all areas of the department clean and organized, including sales floor, cases, coolers, preparation and production areasWhen a customer needs assistance, give the customer priority over the task at hand Physical RequirementsConsistently lift and move 50 poundsStand for the duration of the shiftClimb up and down a stepstool, stepladder, and ladderUse hands, wrists, fingers and arms for duration of shiftSafely operate and use knives, buffalo chopper, and other equipment necessary to run the departmentUse the compactor and cardboard crusher for disposing of garbage and recycling QualificationsBe food safety certifiedBe at least 18 years oldCommunicate clearly with customers and co-workersEmployees are our internal customers; treat them with the same courtesy and respect as our external customersMust work efficiently and at a productive pace per department needsMust be able to work scheduled shiftFollow all department safety policies and proceduresBe able to concentrate on task at hand in order to avoid injury and waste of productBe knowledgeable about Adam product recommend ideas to customers by exploring customer preferences and advocating Adams product DisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general responsibilities of this position.
