THE POSITION

As a Corrections Stock Clerk with the Department of Corrections, you help ensure that important materials reach the right place on time. You support a team that depends on accuracy and efficiency. Every day brings a chance to keep the facility running safely and smoothly.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the movement, storage, and tracking of inventory within the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Waymart. The role helps maintain smooth warehouse and commissary operations. As a Corrections Stock Clerk, you will perform the following duties:
Receiving Stock:
Receive materials from vendors, inspect items, and verify documentation matches purchase orders
Inventory Control:
Maintain adequate stock levels by conducting audits and ensuring proper storage
Distribution Tasks:
Deliver inventory to designated locations and record movement accurately
Inmate Oversight:
Guide inmates through work tasks, track attendance, and support safety in the work area
Equipment Operation:
Use forklifts, hand trucks, or similar equipment to move heavy materials
Stock Purchasing:
Initiate requisitions and place supply orders through a database to maintain necessary inventory Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday
- Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,524.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
