Job Description

Job Summary We're hiring a Warehouse Sorter to keep inbound parcels and freight moving to where they belong. You'll stand at the sorting line for most of your shift, checking each label and sending the item to the right lane or pallet. Trucks arrive in clusters, the pace is often uneven. Stay with it. When a label looks off or a box is torn, you'll flag it for the shift lead rather than guess, since one wrong pallet can leave a customer waiting an extra day or two for their order. We're a small crew and we get along fine. Responsibilities Sorting parcels by label code or destination. Scan each item before it goes into a bin. Loading pallets and carts. Breaking down empty pallets and flattening cardboard, which sometimes piles up faster than expected, so keep the walkways clear as you go. Tell the shift lead about damaged or unlabeled items. End-of-shift sweeping. Qualifications You notice small things like a smudged label or a wrong zone code, even when the line is moving quickly. Being comfortable with a handheld scanner or a computer screen is enough for looking up where a package belongs. If you can read English well enough to follow labels and posted signs, you'll usually do fine here. Showing up on time for scheduled shifts matters, since the next person on the line is waiting on you. Being a team player helps, because the line only works when everyone keeps up their section. When a count doesn't match the paperwork, you recheck it and tell the lead instead of letting it slide. Willingness to learn how we do things, and to ask when you're not sure, counts for a lot.
