Position Summary The part-time Cashier-Sales Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, maintaining knowledge of store promotions, and helping ensure the sales floor remains organized and welcoming. This position provides dependable daily support for front-of-house store operations. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The employee provides cashier and customer-service coverage while also assisting with sales, pricing, stocking, organizing merchandise, front-of-store setup, and other store operations as needed. This position is also required to work one designated Saturday sale per month, generally from 7:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. , and may be offered or asked to work additional hours when coverage is needed due to staff absence, special sales, or other operational needs. Hours may be adjusted during the monthly sale week. The role requires accuracy, dependability, attention to detail, professionalism, and a positive, mission-centered attitude in alignment with the values of Harvest Ministries. Primary Responsibilities Provide friendly, professional service to every customer. Operate the cash register and credit card terminals accurately. Accurately process cash, credit card, and other approved customer transactions. Follow established cash-handling and register procedures. Maintain awareness of promotions, markdowns, and discount policies. Support sales efforts by learning product information and providing accurate information to customers. Restock merchandise near the registers and throughout designated sales areas as needed. Assist with pricing and organizing merchandise. Keep the front area, register zone, entrance, and surrounding sales areas neat and welcoming. Follow all Mission House Outlet Store policies and procedures, especially those related to sales, returns, discounts, and cash handling. Communicate promptly with the Store Lead regarding customer, register, sales, or coverage concerns. Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a cooperative and respectful work environment. Participate in meetings or training sessions as requested. Work the required monthly Saturday sale schedule. May be asked to work additional hours in the event of staff absence, special sales, or other operational needs. Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Previous cashier, retail, stocking, warehouse, or customer-service experience preferred. Previous cash-handling experience strongly preferred. Stellar work attendance and consistent work performance with a positive attitude and willingness to serve others. Dependable and punctual attendance is essential due to the position's primary purpose of providing scheduled lunch and mid-day coverage. Ability to provide professional and courteous customer service. Ability to accurately handle money and process customer transactions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions — especially sales policies and procedures — and follow them accurately with consistency and accountability. Willingness to adapt to and follow the current systems, policies, procedures, and standards established by Mission House Outlet Store. Ability to stand and walk throughout the scheduled shift and lift up to 40 pounds.
