Position Summary The Dairy Supervisor supports the daily operation of the dairy department by helping maintain product availability, freshness, inventory accuracy, merchandising standards, cleanliness, and food safety. This role works alongside associates to stock and rotate merchandise, organize refrigerated storage areas, and ensure the department is well maintained and ready for customers. Key Responsibilities Provide friendly, prompt, and professional customer service. Support the daily operation of the dairy department. Stock dairy merchandise accurately and efficiently. Maintain product availability and ensure merchandise is displayed in the correct locations. Rotate products according to established procedures and monitor product dates and condition. Identify and remove expired, damaged, or unsellable merchandise as appropriate. Maintain shelf conditions, product presentation, pricing, and merchandising standards. Monitor inventory levels and help identify out-of-stocks, overstocks, and ordering needs. Assist with receiving, breaking down, and organizing dairy freight. Maintain organized refrigerated storage and backstock areas. Monitor refrigeration conditions and promptly communicate temperature or equipment concerns. Help minimize product loss and support inventory control procedures. Provide direction, coaching, and support to associates working in the department. Assist with training associates on stocking, rotation, food safety, sanitation, and department procedures. Maintain clean, organized, and safe sales floor, cooler, and storage areas. Follow proper sanitation, food safety, and temperature-control procedures. Communicate inventory, staffing, equipment, and operational concerns to store leadership. Follow company policies, safety standards, security procedures, and applicable food safety requirements. Assist other departments and perform additional duties as business needs require. Leadership Expectations Lead by example and maintain a productive work pace. Provide clear direction and communicate department priorities. Work alongside associates to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed. Coach associates respectfully and reinforce department standards. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Monitor department conditions and address operational concerns promptly. Support consistent execution of stocking, rotation, merchandising, cleanliness, and food safety standards. Communicate significant department issues or incomplete work to store leadership. Qualifications Strong customer service and communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to provide direction and support to other associates. Ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple responsibilities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and freshness. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment. Previous grocery, dairy, stocking, or retail experience is preferred. Physical and Scheduling Requirements Ability to work in refrigerated environments for extended periods. Ability to tolerate cold temperatures while performing assigned duties. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and stock merchandise. Ability to perform repetitive stocking and freight-handling activities. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
