Position Purpose The Night Crew Supervisor is responsible for overseeing overnight grocery operations, ensuring merchandise is stocked efficiently, shelves are fully replenished, inventory is accurately managed, and the store is prepared for business each day. This position provides leadership and direction to night crew associates while maintaining productivity, safety, merchandising, and customer service standards. Key Responsibilities Department Operations Supervise and coordinate nightly stocking, replenishment, and merchandising activities. Ensure merchandise is stocked according to company standards, planograms, and shelf allocation guidelines. Monitor department conditions to maintain in-stock levels and sales readiness. Verify proper product rotation utilizing First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices. Organize and manage backstock inventories to improve efficiency and product availability. Assist with receiving, unloading, and processing product deliveries as needed. Ensure the sales floor is fully stocked, clean, organized, and customer-ready before store opening. Leadership & Team Development Provide daily leadership, coaching, and direction to night crew associates. Assign work responsibilities and monitor productivity throughout shifts. Train associates on stocking procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Assist in evaluating employee performance and communicating development opportunities. Act as the department leader during overnight operations. Inventory Management Monitor inventory accuracy and communicate product shortages or discrepancies. Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and stock control processes. Ensure proper handling and storage of merchandise. Help minimize shrink through effective inventory management and loss prevention practices. Identify and resolve inventory-related issues impacting store operations. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all company safety programs and operating procedures. Maintain safe working conditions in stockrooms, aisles, coolers, and receiving areas. Ensure associates utilize equipment safely and follow proper lifting techniques. Operate pallet jacks, power equipment, and stocking equipment in accordance with company guidelines. Support loss prevention and asset protection initiatives. Customer Service Promote excellent customer service standards during overnight operations. Assist customers as needed and respond professionally to inquiries. Support store appearance standards that contribute to a positive shopping experience. Collaborate with other departments to ensure operational success and customer satisfaction.
