A Lead Stocker trains and supervises stock and sales associates on all inventory handling processes from receiving goods in the warehouse to stocking them on the retail floor. Manages staffing levels of stockers to enable consistent replenishment of store. Ensures fully stocked displays and shelves, including the rotation of product to prevent losses due to expiration. Oversees stockroom, performs stock room maintenance and shipping tasks.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Checks out customers, assists customers in finding items in the store, handles merchandise and deliveries, cleans and straightens displays and shelves, takes out the trash, and restocks deli items.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Basic math skills. Retail experience is proffered but not a requirement, friendly personality, able to give good customer service, able to handle conflict professionally, physical ability to be able to lift a box of books between 40 - 50 lbs. multitask is a must.

The college bookstores are very busy and stressful during the rush periods at the beginning of the semesters. The ability of being able to handle a stressful working environment is a must for this job.
