Job Description

About the Position We are looking for a highly organized, ambitious and hands-on Operations Assistant to work directly with leadership and help us improve the systems behind our stores and warehouse while also improving sales and customer experience. This is NOT a traditional administrative assistant position. We are specifically interested in someone who has worked inside a grocery store, supermarket, meat market, produce department, food market or similar high-volume retail environment. This could be the right opportunity if you are currently a:

What You'll Work On This position works directly with leadership across stores + warehouse + systems + customer experience.
Responsibilities include:
  • Improving inventory accuracy
  • Receiving and product-control processes
  • Replenishment and preventing out-of-stocks
  • Warehouse-to-store transfers
  • Product rotation and shrink control
  • POS and inventory systems
  • Barcode/scanning systems
  • Working with software developers and technology vendors
  • Organizing SKUs and product information
  • Excel and Google Sheets reporting
  • Tracking store sales and inventory
  • Creating SOPs and checklists
  • Following up with store teams
  • Improving merchandising and displays
  • Identifying slow-moving and fast-moving products
  • Helping improve customer service
  • Helping employees improve selling and product recommendations
  • Identifying opportunities to increase store sales
  • Researching better retail systems and processes
  • Helping leadership develop the operating model
  • Taking projects from problem → solution → implementation → follow-up We Want Someone Who Thinks in Systems If something is constantly out of stock, you don't just refill it.
You ask:
Why did it happen? Was ordering wrong? Was inventory wrong? Was the warehouse not replenishing? Was the store not communicating? Is the system missing a minimum stock level? Then you help build a process so the problem doesn't keep happening. That's the type of person we're looking for. Sales & Customer Service Matter We're not looking for someone who only understands inventory. The right person should also understand that retail is about the customer.
You should be comfortable:
  • Talking with customers
  • Coaching employees
  • Improving product presentation
  • Identifying what customers are asking for
  • Helping improve average transactions
  • Creating better product recommendations
  • Looking at a store through the customer's eyes Technology You need to be comfortable learning and working with:
  • POS systems
  • Inventory software
  • Barcode/scanning systems
  • Excel / Google Sheets
  • Reports and dashboards
  • Retail technology You should be comfortable communicating problems to software developers or vendors and helping test whether solutions actually work in the operation.
Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who is: Organized. Systematic. Curious. Sales-minded. Good with customers. Comfortable with technology. Hands-on. Accountable. Resourceful. You should be comfortable spending part of your time at a computer and part of your time inside our warehouse and retail locations. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. Experience At least 2 years of grocery, supermarket, produce, meat market, food retail or similar high-volume retail experience preferred. Management experience is helpful but not required. We especially encourage Assistant Produce Managers, Assistant Meat Market Managers, Grocery Leads and Department Leads who are ready for an opportunity to learn broader business operations.
Pay:
$600.00 - $750.00 per week Ability to commute/relocate: Tomball, TX 77377: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
