JOB SUMMARY
The Produce Clerk 1 provides exceptional guest service. The primary role is to greet guests, and assist as needed with merchandising, preparing, and displaying product. This is done through professional, courteous, and friendly behavior. Must have a strong desire to learn and improve their knowledge in produce. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with accuracy and maintain a high level of productivity and guest service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain cleanliness standards within the department. Follow company rules and state-mandated health and safety laws (Food Handlers Permit). Learn and demonstrate knowledge in the variety of produce to better serve our guests and answer any questions that might arise. Learn and assist with pricing, dating, preparing, and merchandising of products within set guidelines and standards. Able to take custom produce orders from guests, including completing order forms Maintain proper hygiene by washing hands frequently
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 16 years of age No previous experience needed only a willingness to learn. A current and valid state-issued Food Handler's Permit Ability to communicate with others May be required to use microwave, dishwasher, or other equipment.
NOTE:
Minors are not allowed to use or operate any equipment that requires operator to be 18 years or older, including but not limited to, oven, slicer, fryer, wrapper, ladder, step stool, cutting band saw, batter mixer. PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS
Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment with the possibility of frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand, and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries. Also requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire workday and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 30 pounds from location to location.
