Reston Farm Garden Market is looking for outgoing, dependable individuals to join our Neighborhood Market team for the Fall 2026 season! Our Neighborhood Markets are outdoor seasonal garden markets featuring mums, pumpkins, fall plants, seasonal décor, and other fall favorites. We're looking for people who enjoy working outside, have an interest or passion for plants, and take pride in providing excellent customer service. This is an active, hands-on position with a lot of responsibility. Team members assist customers, care for plants, maintain displays, receive deliveries, operate the register, and keep the market looking its best. Many weekday shifts are solo-operated, so we're looking for responsible, self-motivated people who are comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities. Are You a Perfect Fit? What You'll Do Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service Help customers select plants, pumpkins, and other fall products Learn about our plants and products to better assist customers Operate the register and accurately handle transactions Water and care for mums and other seasonal plants Stock and maintain attractive fall displays Help customers load plants, pumpkins, soil, and other merchandise Unload and put away deliveries Keep the market clean, organized, and customer-ready Assist with opening and closing responsibilities Independently manage multiple responsibilities during solo shifts What We're Looking For Dependable, punctual, and responsible Strong work ethic and positive attitude Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable approaching customers Interest in plants, gardening, or outdoor work Comfortable working independently Willing and able to work outdoors in changing fall weather Comfortable being active and on your feet throughout the shift Able to safely lift and move items up to 50 lbs Reliable transportation to and from work Previous garden center, retail, landscaping, or customer service experience is helpful, but not required Schedule & Availability Both part-time and full-time positions are available. Applicants must have consistent availability throughout September and October and be able to maintain the weekly availability they are hired for through November 1st. Please list the days and hours you are available to work each week, Monday through Sunday, and confirm that you can maintain this availability through November 1st. Our Neighborhood Markets operate outdoors, and employees work outside throughout their shift in varying temperatures and fall weather conditions. Are you comfortable working outdoors throughout your shift? This is an active position that includes standing, walking, watering plants, unloading deliveries, moving pumpkins and plants, and helping customers load their purchases. Are you able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform these duties throughout your shift? Providing great customer service is one of the most important parts of this position. Our employees are expected to be outgoing, greet and approach customers, ask questions, offer assistance, and create a friendly and welcoming experience.
