Eurofins EAG Materials Science is seeking a Technical Specialist with a strong background in materials characterization to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to transition into a role that blends technical expertise with customer engagement and strategic problem-solving.
Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored analytical solutions.
Prepare detailed proposals and quotes, including statements of work.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Support the sales team by maintaining strong customer relationships and contributing to revenue growth.Develop and maintain technical knowledge across a broad range of analytical methods.
QualificationsB.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Materials Characterization experience in academic or industrial settings involving variety of materials, especially surface analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient listener with strong analytical and judgment capabilities.
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Technically adept and computer literate. What would set you apart?:
Standout candidates combine a materials characterization expertise with the ability to scope, lead, and communicate investigations directly with clients.
Example materials characterization experience may include XPS, TOF-SIMS, Auger, AFM, and organic/polymer characterization techniques.
Demonstrated ability to translate client needs into an executable lab scope (assumptions, deliverables, turnaround, and success criteria) and contribute to proposals/quotes/SOWs.
Comfortable leading peer-to-peer technical conversations with clients on experimental design, data interpretation, and next-step recommendations.
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and drive outcomes under firm deadlines, including proactive risk escalation/conflict resolution.
Physical requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses, Contacts, etc.)Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overheadAbility to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.
Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
