They have completed relevant education or training programs and have gained initial practical experience. They work under moderate supervision, supporting projects and troubleshooting as needed. We are pleased to announce the immediate need for a Software Engineer, who will join our Ground Based Radar (GBR) Maintenance and Sustainment Services (GMASS) team in Colorado Springs, CO and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team providing key technical support for Maintenance and Sustainment services (including improvements and modernization) for 6 Ground Based Radars (UEWRs / PARCS) and the associated Integration laboratories.Responsibilities :
You'll be working with the GMASS program including the systems engineering, software, and hardware engineering teams to develop and implement approved modernization efforts within specified performance, cost, and schedule objectives to ensure continued operational capability while seamlessly transitioning new technologies into the radars. You will design, develop, document, test, and debug application software. You will conduct analysis and collaborate with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting. End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software. You will determine computer user needs, analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls. Additionally, you will prepare operating instructions, design and develop autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs. You will also ensure software standards are met.Basic Qualifications:
You must have a bachelor's degree in a STEM field. Software Engineering degree preferred. While we are looking for all experience levels, for mid-level positions we expect someone with 5 or more years full-time professional experience performing relevant work and for the more senior positions we expect 18 years or more experience. You must possess or can obtain an active Secret clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this position. Lacking any one of these disqualifies you from this job.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience applying principles and techniques of engineering while performing research, analysis, hardware / software / systems design, testing or operations. Ability to assist in analysis of user / mission needs and existing system capabilities and identify gaps. Capability to apply innovative techniques in investigating solutions to system gaps, test needs or problems. The capability to design, develop, test and implement hardware, software, network or database solutions. Capability to work independently and contribute to team tasks. Depending on experience level, lead a task, project, or team while requiring minimal guidance and direction from more senior level staff. Knowledge of the UEWR and PARCS radar systems and technologies that support the ground-based space Missile Warning, Missile Defense, and Space Domain Missions. Experience developing integrated technical modernization plans, based on reviewed trade studies, analyses of alternatives or similar technical studies. Demonstrated mastery of systems engineering processes and practices, including DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) experience. Demonstrated capability, across multiple programs, to take technology from concept to implementation. Experience effectively communicating at senior levels within an organization and meeting with stakeholders to formulate, review, and execute technical plans and deliverable items. Experience migrating legacy radar systems to a modern digital engineering, digital transformation, and Agile development environment. Experience in trade studies and analyses of alternatives to enhance enterprise capabilities, as required. Experience creating MBSE models of systems. Experience in creating architectures across disciplines to meet program objectives. Experience adding detail to short-, medium-, and long-term architectural visions, put together purchase plans, roadmaps, and sparing and obsolescent equipment replacement plans. Experience performing concept of test and training event planning, requirements definition and capture, analysis and engineering, system analysis and design.
