Job Description

Information Technology Specialist The Information Technology Specialist supports the reliable, secure and effective operation of Mormon Trail Community School District's technology systems. The position provides technical assistance to staff and students, maintains district devices and systems, and coordinates technology needs with district administrators and outside service providers. Essential responsibilities Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot computers, Chromebooks, printers, classroom technology and related equipment. Provide timely technical support to staff and students through the district's work-order process. Assist with network, internet, Wi-Fi, server, software and account administration. Prepare, deploy, inventory and retire district technology equipment. Manage user accounts, passwords, permissions and access in accordance with district procedures. Support cybersecurity, data privacy, backups, updates and device-management systems. Maintain accurate technology inventories, documentation, warranties and licensing records. Assist administrators with technology purchasing, planning and budgeting. Coordinate repairs and specialized services with vendors and outside technology providers. Provide basic technology training and guidance to employees. Protect confidential student, employee and district information. Perform other technology-related duties assigned by the superintendent or designee. Qualifications Relevant education, training or experience in information technology, computer systems, networking or technical support. Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, network and user-access problems. Strong communication, organization and customer-service skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize competing requests and document completed work. Successful completion of required background checks.
