Position OverviewAs a Sr. Reconditioning Associate I, you will play a vital role in ensuring every vehicle meets CarMax's quality standards. This position combines technical expertise with attention to detail, focusing on Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) and other reconditioning tasks for CarMax used, new, and customer vehicles. You'll also support related roles such as Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II and Flow Inventory Associate II when needed. Role Responsibilities
  • Perform body repairs, including masking, sanding, and grinding to restore vehicle surfaces
  • primer and refinish paint, ensuring finishes and defect corrections
  • Remove and replace parts as needed for cosmetic and structural integrity
  • Repair plastic and substrates to meet CarMax quality standards
  • Maintain and repair specialized equipment while ensuring proper cleaning and functionality
  • Uphold CarMax Paint Standards and workplace organization under CarMax 5S principles and deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
  • Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area. Required Qualifications
  • Completion of New Associate Orientation Training - Operations
  • Accountability to Associate 1 Competency Model and CarMax timekeeping systems training for Hourly Associates
  • Ability to meet performance standards for Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II, Flow Inventory Associate II, and Sr. Reconditioning Associate roles
  • Successful completion of workstation certifications across all relevant reconditioning areas
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately and perform multiple duties in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions, including outdoor environments
  • Required to use CarMax-provided respiratory protection.
Must be clean-shaven to use half-face respirator.
